Turtle Independance Day

If there is one thing Mauna Lani, Auberge Resort is known for throughout the community, it is Turtle Independence Day.  This 36-year-old tradition of releasing turtles back into the wild is popular with guests and residents of all ages.  I have had the pleasure of attending 3 of these now and look forward to it every year.  This year was another successful release with four healthy turtles being released back into the ocean.  This is a morning of giving back to the planet, hula dancing, music, and fantastic food.  A great time all around.

If you are looking for something different to do on the nation’s holiday, this is one to keep in mind: a trip to the Big Island of Hawai’i to witness the turtle release.
